China who is counted among the largest marketing hub in South Asia has covered almost all industries either mobile, medicine, machinery, manufacturing, or even mobile apps. Today, as we know mobile is another lifeline of every citizen in the world, and more than calling and photography many other apps are there which makes our work easier. With mobile we can socialize with each other through social media platforms, we can create small or large size videos, share data from mobile phones to laptops, mail, or any other devices. Similarly, we can do a lot of work and entertainment through mobile apps. Most of the apps are made in China which we are using and most of them are banned in India.
But, do you know there are two types of an app which we are using – One is a paid app and another is the Free app. We prefer to use free apps and use them for our daily works. These apps not only ask to share your personal details but also show you advertisements by which the company earns. The ads we saw over the apps either from Google or from any other source, give money to the app developer company and these ads use our internet data a lot. To avoid such advertisements we prefer to go with the paid version of applications.
Why India bans the Chinese app?
First of all, India is a country of a brilliant mind where the developer can create the same applications at a lower cost than those of multinational developers another reason behind the ban of the Chinese app is to promote local brands. The international dispute among both the nations India and China is counted as the main reason for the ban of the apps developed in China but the permission of using personal data like Media, Message, Location and other information we allowed at the time of using apps is unsafe for our safety features. The app developer can collect everything from our phone and it might be misused by their companies.
How our personal data is unsafe with app developers?
While using the apps we allowed everything to be used by the app because we don’t have any other option. If we do not allow the app to use our personal data, the app will not work, so we just apply “Allow” and use the apps. But we don’t know the information we are sharing through that app can be used and saved by the developer company and they can use this information for any kind of unethical practice or can gather our data like bank details through which they can target cybercrime. Our media collection, which they can use to create any social media account and ask for financial help from our friends, by using clone social media account. Similarly, when we gave all permission to the app while using, it also creates many issues for us. The app development company can also sell out our data to companies who target us either through cybercrime or through irrelevant calls on the name of bank, jobs, etc.
It is true that China did not allow any other online platforms either Google, Facebook or Youtube in their country, China has its own search engine platforms, social media platforms, navigation apps, etc. But allow their apps to run in the world. After the international bound dispute between India and China, India took a bold step and banned 59 Chinese apps on the name of safety features but it is a kind of digital strike over China and the step taken by India was appreciated by all world leaders.
The Chinese apps banned in India are mostly those apps which we are addicted to using in our daily life. Either it is of entertainment like Tik Tok, or sharing of data through Shareit, scanning of documents through Camscanner, all these apps are banned in India due to security reasons.
